With your subscription, you will be playing two sets of 6 numbers from 1 to 59. It’s like playing two tickets! On Wednesday and Saturday nights 6 winning numbers plus a bonus number are drawn. To win the jackpot you must match all 6 numbers to one of your number sets. But if you only match 5 and the bonus number you still win big!

Draw dates

Winning numbers are drawn every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:21 PM.

Claiming prizes

When we detect that you win a prize, we notify you.

Prizes up to $600 can be claimed at any New York Lottery retailer. BuyLottoOnline.com will redeem your ticket and we will either credit it to your subscription or send you your winnings. We will typically have your winnings within 2 or 3 days after the draw date. New York Lottery retailers can pay prizes on tickets presented up to 45 days after the draw.

Prizes over $600 require filling out a claim form and must be claimed at a Lottery Claim Center. We will send you the forms and assist you in submitting your tickets to the New York Lottery.

All winning tickets must be claimed within one year of the date printed on the ticket.

Payment options

New York Lotto jackpots are paid in 26 graduated annual payments or as a lump sum cash value. This decision must be made at the time of playing.

Cash option

BuyLottoOnline.com will mark the option to be paid in a lump sum; therefore, if you win the jackpot, you will be paid the estimated present cash value of the advertised jackpot amount. This amount will be less than the advertised amount. The advertised jackpot amount includes annuity interest on your money earned over 25 years.

Taxes

The New York Lottery withholds federal, state and local income taxes from prizes over $5,000 or from prizes over $600 when the winner does not present a social security number. Withholding varies according to the winner's place of residence.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to play the New York Lotto or to receive a prize. It is not necessary to be a US citizen or resident to play the lottery.
